By using the RSR process, phosphorus is recovered from the waste sewage sludge on the one hand, and on the other hand, a raffinate is produced that can be further processed and is free of impurities and pollutants, as well as a residual sludge (1 - 2 % of the initial sewage sludge; still contains a few impurities and pollutants that could not be neutralised by the previous process).
The raffinate can be used for two product routes:
By enriching the raffinate with the extracted phosphorus, a high-quality, organic, mineral complete fertiliser is produced -
